Christmas 2008

Christmas is over and we are about to ring in the New Year. We got back home on Sunday evening after spending Christmas with my family. We went to Christmas Eve service at our church in Durant. We had the honor of lighting the Advent Wreath at the first service and then I played in the handbell choir at the beginning of the 2nd service before we headed out to my brother and sister-in-laws and got to their home around 2:30am Christmas morning. After going to bed at 3:00 we were awaken at 7:00 by my nephew running up the stairs yelling, "Daddy, Santa ate all the cookies!" What a blessed sound to wake up to. The innocence of a child on Christmas morning. A great reminder of the joy that Christmas is about. We also got to share in the joy of the beginning of my sister-in-law's pregnancy! We are so excited we are going to be an aunt and uncle again. She is due the end of summer/beginning of fall! I'll definitely keep you posted on that!

Ryan had his first hunting experience with my brother the Friday after Christmas. He didn't get anything but he did see a deer that was too small to shot and the experience left him with the hunters itch. Saturday we went to see the movie "Tale of Despereaux" which is a cute movie and just relaxed.

Now we head into the new year. Ryan is finishing up his last few nights in the ER and I working at the clinic this week helping cover for people who are on vacation. Ryan is on call this weekend so we are just planning on ringing in the new year at home. I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
